Case Study
Transjakarta Route
The background behind the making of this case study
Long story short, I was accepted as one of the Insan Design Bootcamp participants. I am very happy to have the opportunity to learn because I want to seek a lot of knowledge and learn from our experienced mentors, namely from various companies such as Gojek and Tokopedia.
The theme of the case study that I received was Transportation, and the aim was to increase user comfort when using transportation. Therefore I chose the Transjakarta topic.
Transjakarta
About Transjakarta
Transjakarta is designed as a mode of mass transportation to support the activities of the highly congested capital city. Transjakarta is a BRT system with the longest route of 230.9 km. Transjakarta is also a means of transportation which is a solution for reducing congestion in the capital city by having the longest track in the world (230.9 KM) and having hundreds of bus stops spread throughout Jakarta, more and more people are using Transjakarta as a means of daily transportation.

Double Diamond
Double Diamond design model has four stages: Discovery, Definition, Development and Delivery. Together, these stages work as a map designers can use to organize their thoughts in order to improve the creative process.

Stage 1 - Discover
“At this stage, we will do 3 main things: Planning Research, Making Research Guidelines, and Doing Research.”
Planning Research

Making Research Guidelines

Doing Research
From research and asking questions to users, we will understand the habits of users in using Transjakarta, and also get to know more about their pain points in several aspects

Stage 2 - Define
Create Affinity Diagram
From the interview results, we will classify the problems found and group them based on similarities

After we create Affinity Daigram, we will do 6 main things:

Napkin Sketch
At this stage we will make a napkin sketch to briefly explain what product we will be creating.

Concept Model
Diagram that will provide an overview of how the system will work and the relationships between its parts.

JTBD & User Flow
Well, at this stage, we'll create user jobs (JTBD - Jobs to be done) and create user flows from the JTBD.

“Finallyyy...
We have come to the end of the story regarding my case study, which still has many mistakes and I still need to learn a lot.
So, that's about the process of completing this case study from start to finish, which took approximately 3 months to complete everything, there are many easy and difficult obstacles while working on this, but there are also many lessons and knowledge that can be obtained too, thank you for reading this story :)”
